Did you know there’s a whole field of scientific research on building positive youth development through play and sport? This research is the very basis upon Camp PAL being built!

Some of our many proven techniques we emphasize at Camp PAL center around fostering positive peer interactions, promoting youth voice and choice, differentiating curriculum to meet developmental needs, setting goals, and addressing how life skills can be used in school, home, and community life.

We believe teaching life skills to youth is incredibly important today. Youth problems in our society and even in our backyard of Chicago seem to be escalating, and we are constantly inundated with news of school violence, youth delinquency, and childhood obesity. Youth programs and schools across the country are trying to transition to a model of holistic student development, and that has been at the core of Camp PAL since our inception! Our vision is to provide an environment dedicated to safe, fun, and engaging activities while imparting personal and social responsibility.

Lastly, we can’t go without saying that it is your children that truly make Camp PAL a special place! Their kindness, creativity, and enthusiasm makes us hopeful for this next generation of leaders.

Thank you for sharing your children with us!
